There are nine species or subspecies of wild cat in temperate Europe and Asia. We have separated the highly endangered Scottish Wildcat Felis silvestris grampia and the Asiatic Cheetah Acinonyx jubatus venaticus subspecies due to their very unique conservation problems. The Tiger also ranges much further south into the tropical jungles, but the large Siberian Tigers are found in Russia and China.
